Old Bison Tale

We went to Yellowstone in late July and I'm only now getting the rest of the pictures. So here goes.
We had a good time with the sights and hikes and even some swimming.
One picnic at lunch we had out lots of food. So much food. And we even got a show. Nearby, a huge bison wandered  by and started rolling in the dust! So much fun, right? And then Jay said, "Julie, he's looking at you. I think he's going to come here." And Jay laughed.
That's when the bison did just that. He wasn't running towards us, but that much bison moving firmly in your direction is enough to make you sweat. And suddenly the vast number of things on the picnic table backfired as we tried to throw everything in boxes and keep ourselves from running away. See, what animal can resist chasing when the soft, fleshy humans are running? So we walked quickly away, our hands full of food and boxes (the last of it still on the table, we hoped he wouldn't eat it). Finally we turned behind some trees and the bison went straight on pass.
No, we don't have photos of the incident. We were a bit busy.
We celebrated my birthday (a few days late) on a beach :)

Twin geysers!
This is Sarah and Bob's car. Think they can see the bison?

But the bison kept blocking the road. People would stop to look at the herd (and stop traffic) and then, since traffic was stopped, the bison would cross the road so no one really could move.
