9 Months for the Girls and the Basket Trap

I have a story that kind of sounds made up.

I was putting away laundry and came back to the living room to see the big basket now upside down and Wendy drumming on the top of it. I looked for Miri and realized she was trapped underneath it!!!

The girls must have used the upright basket to pull up to stand, and it flipped over, with Miri underneath. Then Wendy decided that the basket was a drum.
I walked in and found Wendy like this. Look closely: Miri is underneath
I moved Wendy and Miri lifted the basket by herself. She wasn't upset

At their 9 month well child check they both were told they are growing well.

Wendy is 13 lbs 4 oz, 24 5/8th inches tall, and her head is 42.9 cm around. For weight this puts her at the 3rd percentile for adjusted age, which is following her curve.

Miri is 16 lbs 10.5 oz, 25 7/8 inches tall, and her head is 43.2 cm around. For weight this puts her at above the 50th percentile for adjusted age, which is following her curve too. She's big and cute.

Both girls are quite strong. They started crawling on the exact same day, August 13, and are so fun to see coming towards you. They cruise along furniture and sometimes will even let go. Today Wendy pulled herself up to stand using just my knee and she let go and stood there for 3 or 4 seconds without support!

They love to eat solid foods. Wendy just begged some cottage cheese off me and thought it was great. They think Cheerios after about the best thing ever, probably because I haven't given them cake yet.

Miri got her first tooth August 28, and now has 2 teeth!

Theo is really growing up. If one girl falls, he'll go help her up.
He uses big words and is very eloquent. Full disclosure, he's practicing for when he has his own YouTube channel. He narrated playing a Numberblocks video game with, "Look at how good this game looks. Numberblock 8 even has 8 points around his eyes. Look at the detail!"

He's almost 5 and it shows! I'm glad he missed the cut off for going to kindergarten, but only because of Covid-19. We don't have to worry about distance learning, which sounds really rough on kindergartners and their parents.

He was throwing a tantrum a few weeks ago and just kept crying even after he was definitely no longer enraged.
I decided to take the girls to their room to get us away from the noise. A girl in each arm, I suddenly smelled poop. I couldn't tell which it was and jokingly asked Theo, "Do you want to smell Miri's bottom and tell me if she pooped?"
Theo stopped crying, ran up, smelled her, announced that she was the poopy one, and then returned to the couch to cry some more.

The girls love their bunny and kitty crocheted stuffed animals. Last night we let them cuddle them as they fell asleep (and then took them out of the cribs because stuffed animals are technically not a safe to sleep with at this age).

Theo wanted to make a cake. He decided he needed to put a peach cup contents in the batter and then flavored the frosting cherry just like his Gabi does. Then he picked the color of frosting -- pink and purple because it reminds him of the girls. He frosted it all by himself and then Jay placed the sprinkles and Theo pushed them in with a spoon.

I call this position the "twin pillow"
