Theo's first Jiu-Jitsu Tournament, Miri Writing Valentine's
Theo had his first ever Jiu-Jitsu tournament in Phoenix. He worked hard and did well. He lost by just a few points, which means that he fought the entire 3 minutes and the other boy wasn't able to make him submit. He got taken down and got back up. He got some points himself.
This was at a birthday party for the girls' preschool classmate, Sela. It was really nice of the mom to invite siblings, and it really made me feel better to have Theo come too to help me keep track of both girls at the bowling alley.
Wendy did the base for her rainbow house, working very hard. Just like Theo, she takes comfort in order. Notice she put the blocks in the order of the rainbow as much as she could, "Red, orange, yellow, blue, uhhhh no indigo or purple. I'll just use white as purple." She then referred to the white blocks as "purple" each time she talked about them, despite them actually being white. She needed some help when she reached the middle because you have to line everything up very straight, so she kept asking me, "Mom, can you get this purple to go in?" while holding a white Lego.
Miri called this Squishmellow Peaches. I came in the other night and she was hugging to enormous stuffed toy in her sleep.
"Mom, take my picture!" she says lots of times a day. You can see her purple hair dye on the ends of her hair in this photo
Miriam didn't want to dye her hair so we got some colored hair clip ins. When we asked about dying her hair, Miriam said nervously, "No, I just want brown."
Oranges and grapefruit from my parents' trees
Purple hair
Daddy researched the method, bought the Kool Aid, boiled it, and sat there soaking her hair to get it purple.
"Mom take my picture!" She didn't buy the toy
New Valentine outfits from Gabi and Tache
Miriam is pretty good at her name for her Valentines. Unfortunately, I tried to write and example on scratch paper and she insisted that she wanted to write the example on her own. So she did, again and again. So much so, she was too tired to write it on 11 actual Valentines for her class -- I think she did it on 4 of them. She was also the one who picked out the candy. She is a lover of lollipops. Wendy just wrote her Ws.
