Also, coming from Tucson and looking st the photos, it seems funny to call it desolation.
Jay took Tuesday off work so he could get in all the CPA studying he was going to miss while on the trip.
The next day, I dropped him at 6 a.m. at the church building. They drove to the parking spot, packed into the campsite, set up camp, made dinner, then immediately went to sleep from the long hike with packs and the long day. It was only 8 p.m. And even the teens were tired.
Apparently the teens were so tired that they didn't set up their rain fly properly. I wasn't there, and Jay was in a separate, dry tent, but when it started pouring st midnight, I guess many of the young men's tents let in water and boys slept in puddles and got up every few hours to bail out their tents!
The next day they were supposed to hike, but by the time it stopped raining and they laid out all their stuff in the sun, they decided then needed to recover and would have more fun in the campsite.
It looks like they had fun at the lake.
