Theo's 2nd Birthday

We had a two day celebration for Theo this year. On Saturday we went to the zoo to see
It has been awhile since Theo went to the zoo and we started with feeding the giraffes. They gave us 6 pieces of vegetables to feed the giraffe (2 each) but we let Theo feed all of it because he thought it was so cool.
Later we walked past the giraffes again and Theo ran up to their enclosure, still excited about them. When we went to see the elephants, they came out on parade (it seemed) just for Theo. He also really liked the birds in the aviary.
At noon we told him we had seen everything. Did he want to go home or to see more animals? He said animals. He wanted to see the monkeys again. So we did. Do you want to go home now?
"No, animals," he said as he attempted to lie down on a bench. We convinced him to go home and get milk, but he was definitely exhausted.

He took a 3 hour nap, which is amazing for him! That night we went to a good friend's birthday party with lots of people. He went to bed really late.

On Sunday we gave him his present. I showed it to him all wrapped and he said, "Present for Grandma!"
I had just given my mom her gift wrapped in the same birthday paper earlier this week.
"No, this is for Theo!"
"Yay!"

We went to church and then had that long, long nap. After that we went to dinner at my parents and we had chicken, but mostly Theo ate watermelon and macaroni and cheese. He also had some chips. And then he ate the mac and cheese off of his cousin Kaiana's plate.

He got to play with lots of gifts including a new monkey book, a bubble machine, and a fire truck.

Sitting with Daddy, eating yummy Brazilian food.

"What's on the ball?" (I expected him to say, "A star."
"A cat."

He drove his Hot Wheels into the library

Hanging out with Caleb

This is how I found his Saturday morning.

He insisted on wearing socks and sandals.
He's looking at the giraffes while we wait to feed them.

Rhinos

He spent a lot of his time on Daddy's shoulders

Giant tortoise

In the aviary. See the animals on his shirt? He picked that out himself.

I grabbed a picture before grabbing him

The helium balloon is one of his favorite new toys

Sunday afternoon we were both very tired and I failed to leave his room for awhile of his nap.

Pumpkin Cake. My mom had chocolate ice cream cones. Theo blew out his candles in 2 breaths. Then all he cared about was the ice cream cone.
