Baby's First Fourth of July

I got some good photos of them in a First Fourth of July onesie.
Miri
Wendy
It seems like I can't get photos of them both looking anymore because they are so on the move all the time.
Their gross motor skills are amazing, especially tiny Wendy's. They both pull themselves up to stand. Wendy does it like a champ at this point, sometimes holding onto me with only one hand and not bearing much weight. Miri does pretty well but doesn't usually stand on the bottoms of her feet -- instead she curls her toes and stands on the tops of them or the sides of her feet. I reached out to Wendy's physical therapist since she had said even though Wendy graduated, to e-mail her any questions. The physical therapist gave us some tips to work with Miri and said that if it doesn't resolve in a month that it could be an issue, but is still normal for now. She also said that this is early for them to be doing that.

The girls had both been scooting around on their tummies, but using both their hands and knees. On August 13, 1 day after they were 6 months adjusted age, the both started crawling up on their hands and knees. They turned 8 months old actual on August 2nd, so that's a pretty normal time to start crawling.

The girls both love solids. Wendy doesn't like bottles much anymore and gets distracted in nursing, so I try to feed her a lot of solids with milk mixed in to help that tiny girl to gain some more weight. The doctor wants her to get some extra calories to keep on the growth curve.

Miri loves table food. We had a picnic in our backyard a week ago. Wendy was asleep and Jay was at work (at home, but he was busy). I got a cup of water and Cheerios for Miri, but that wasn't good enough. When I was momentarily distracted, she dashed across the blanket, grabbed Theo's peanut butter and jelly sandwich in both hands, lunged in for a giant bite, and then laughed with pleasure. The doctor hadn't wanted to start them on peanuts yet, but I watched Miri and she didn't have any allergy symptoms. She also begs our food a lot of the time. The other day she got a piece of peach, bits of bread, and steamed broccoli from me.

When Theo was tiny I laughed at his high chair. It had shoulder straps. Who uses shoulder straps for their baby? He was fine.
Miri is fine with just the waist buckles too. Wendy, on the other hand, is an escape artist. We have 1 swing with shoulder straps and 1 high chair with shoulder straps (and one of each without) and have to make sure she's in the shoulder straps one or she will work and twist her way at least partially out. We say Wendy looks more like me, but she's got her daddy's escape skills.

I was trying to get a photo to capture how much bigger Miri is than Wendy. See those chunky thighs?

I guess Theo's eye itched so he used Wendy's hand to scratch it?

I came in to find them like this: The girls had both pulled themselves up to stand and Theo was entertaining them without being asked
Miri and a teething necklace

Wendy's favorite way to sleep.
One day I left her in her room for just a short time. She crawled between the glider and the wall and fell asleep. At first I couldn't find her, and then when I did she was face down and motionless. She really likes to freak mommy out. I pulled her out and she was just fine.
Theo's first day of preschool for fall 2020!
My parents are teaching him 2 days a week for 1.5 hours. The actual preschool is closed (and we wouldn't have put him in it anyway because Coronavirus)
He brought his paint shirt -- his own idea, just in case
