Jay and I left Sacramento on Friday after Jay had worked a "half" day consisting of more hours than four. But he finished his things, we picked up a rental car, and we only scheduled ourselves a few hours of driving before stopping in Redding.
We scheduled a few fun stops each day with small amounts of driving.
Our first stop was Colusa National Wildlife Refuge. It was not worth seeing, so we just turned around and left.
Our next stop with Dog Island Park. This was just a pretty park with walking trails and Frisbee golf, but it was a good place to stop with our dog. He enjoyed it a lot.
Funny story, after the disappointing wildlife refuge, Google Maps didn't take us to Dog Island Park -- it took us to a nearby housing col de sac. A very nice woman in the small town came out and gave us directions to the park.
We were both just pretty sad to not know where the park was at first and were beginning to wonder if Roadtrippers didn't want us to have a good trip (the website Jay found all the attractions on).
